Why have a Health Assessment?

The purpose of a Health Assessment is to have a general understanding of all the issues that effect your well being. Health assessments cover your physical, mental and emotional health and the results provide an overview of your future health needs and status.

A Health Assessment covers a range of tests and examinations and vary according to your age, health needs and the type of assessment being undertaken.

Health Assessments are recommended for the following groups:

Adults aged 40-49

Type 2 diabetes assessments, Adults between the ages of 40 and 49 should have a diabetes type 2 risk assessment every three years.

Chronic disease assessments

Adults aged 40 to 49 should also have a chronic disease assessment to evaluate your risk of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and hypertension.

Persons with intellectual disabilities

Persons with intellectual disabilities should be evaluated for health risks on an annual basis.

People over the age of 75

People who are over the age of 75 receive an annual health assessment.
